Panama City & PCB: Beach Life on One Side, Bay Life on the Other
What Makes Panama City Beach, 30A and Grayton Beaches Special
Geographic Advantages
Natural Limestone Bottom
Unlike many Gulf areas with sandy bottoms, Panama City Beach features extensive natural limestone ledges and outcroppings. This hard bottom creates habitat for reef fish and extends 60+ miles offshore.
Close Proximity to Deep Water
The 100-fathom curve (600 feet) is closer here than in many other Gulf locations. We can reach deep water structure within reasonable travel times.
Protected Inshore Waters
St. Andrews Bay provides 17,000 acres of calm, productive fishing when Gulf conditions are rough. Year-round inshore fishing regardless of weather.
Aggressive Artificial Reef Program
Bay County has one of Florida's most active artificial reef programs. Hundreds of permitted structures enhance natural bottom and create additional fish habitat.
"Emerald Coast" Water Clarity
White quartz sand and limestone bottom create the distinctive emerald green, clearer water that Panama City Beach is famous for. Better visibility helps fishing in many situations.
